The Pusteria valley turns pink
Cycling lovers and sports enthusiasts beware! The most important Italian cycling race, the Giro d'Italia, arrives in Pusteria valley on the 29th of May 2019!
176 riders from 22 teams will compete in the Grand Tour and fight for the pink jersey in 21 stages. The 17th stage of the Giro d'Italia 2019 comes to our beautiful region: starting from the Val di Non in Trentino, the route leads over the Mendel Pass to South Tyrol. Thereon, the course drops down into Bolzano, climbs up the Isarco valley, all the way to Bressanone and continues into the Pusteria valley. The peloton passes Rio Pusteria, Vandoies, Terento, Falzes and Brunico and finally reaches its destination the Südtirol Arena in Anterselva. The day after the pink caravan moves on to Valdaora, where the start of the 18th stage takes place, which will lead to Santa Maria di Sala.
