A winter holiday at our hotel in Val Pusteria/Pustertal provides unforgettable experiences. The beautiful winter sports resorts of Brunico/Bruneck, Cortina, Corvara, Valle di Tures ed Aurina/Tauferer Ahrntal and Valle di Anterselva/Antholzer Tal are close by and offer pure fun in the snow for everyone.
Winter Hiking
Hiking in South Tyrol has a long tradition – in winter too. The picturesque natural scenery around the Hotel Windschar are perfect for exciting expeditions. Whether you’re looking for leisurely hikes in the valley or challenging tours to the summits – well signposted routes and quaint places to stop off and enjoy a bite to eat are guaranteed in any case.
Ski Tours
Swap the ski lift restraining bar for skins, experience the deep silence of the quiet mountains, draw your own tracks in the dusty powder snow ... a ski tour promises absolute harmony with nature, breathtaking panoramas and experiences for eternity. Tobogganing
Tobogganing in South Tyrol guarantees fun for all ages! A fun toboggan run includes the walking up on foot and a stop at a quaint mountain hut for something to eat. Our region offers the best conditions for a merry winter experience: kilometre-long toboggan runs, sunny natural toboggan runs and fresh mountain air await you. Every week there is a guided toboggan trip.
Night tobogganing is a special kind of tobogganing fun. In the Klausberg skiing area, the longest illuminated toboggan run in South Tyrol with a track of more than 5 km and the cable car running at night invites you to enjoy thrilling fun under the starry sky every Tuesday from 7.30 to 10.00 p.m. There is also a weekly torchlight hike to the Bauhof in Villa Ottone/Uttenheim, followed by a toboggan run on the floodlit slope.
Ice Skating & Ice Hockey
The Gais natural ice rinks is just 100 m away from the Ferien- & Wellnesshotel Windschar. It offers fun for all ages in cold temperatures. Die-hard ice hockey fans should not miss the Serie A championships in the Leitner Solar Arena in Brunico/Bruneck.
Curling
Your host family, the Kronbichlers, organise a curling tournament for all Windschar guests on the natural ice rink in Gais every week. Anyone who scores 43 points with five pushes, wins 1 free weekend break at the Ferien- & Wellnesshotel Windschar!
Horse-drawn Sleigh Rides
Sleighs, horses and white splendour – what could be more beautiful than being pulled through the snow-covered landscape under a bright blue sky? Warmly wrapped in blankets, the comfortable ride over meadows and alpine pastures is an experience for everyone. We will be happy to book your romantic sleigh ride for you!
Paragliding
Glide silently like a bird on a paraglider tandem flight from Plan de Corones/Kronplatz down to the valley and admire picturesque Val Pusteria/Pustertal from a bird's eye view. An impressive and unique experience both in the summer and winter!
